The room is the gift. Your attention is the work.
Council members are the reason Phoenix Rising can promise speakers a real ripple. You show up, you listen, and when the speaker names a hurdle, you bring whatever you actually have — a contact, a perspective, a stage, a sentence that unlocks something.
Five ways the council shows up.
No prep, no panel, no performance. Just you, present, with whatever ideas and connections rise when the speaker tells you where they’re stuck.
-
i
Attend live
Block ninety minutes every other Thursday at 3:00 PM Central. The room runs best when the same faces keep returning — speakers feel held, not auditioned.
-
ii
Listen deeply
Cameras on, chat closed during the talk. We treat each fifteen minutes the way the speaker prepared it: as a real moment, not background.
-
iii
Offer ideas, intros, amplification
When the hurdle is named, share the thing only you can — a person, a perspective, a platform, a resource. Specific beats brilliant.
-
iv
Commit to one follow-through
Each council member leaves with one specific thing they’ll do for at least one speaker that week. Small commitments, kept, are how a real ripple gets made.
-
v
Protect the room
What is shared in the room stays in the room — unless and until the speaker gives explicit consent for a quote, clip, or theme to travel further.
Hold the dates. RSVP for the ones you can show up to fully.
We’d rather have you fully present at one session than half-present at four. RSVP per session — speakers will know who is in the room before they begin.
Speaker lineup being finalized. The Zoom link is shared with confirmed council members ahead of each session.
The council’s only job is to make sure no voice in the room walks out alone. The standard we hold ourselves to
